The iconic archeologist has started to make his arrival for the PS5, with the early access launch of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
Cue the March
Topping ‘game of the year’ lists for some outlets, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was a smash for Bethesda when it launched for the Xbox Series X|S and PC late last year. But while we knew at the time that the game would be coming to the PS5, we didn’t know quite when.
It wasn’t long though, before we found out that Dr. Jones’ globe-trotting quest to uncover the link between ancient sites around the world would be landing on Sony’s platform in April of 2025. And true to the ancient texts (or Bethesda press releases… whichever), we’ve arrived in the fated month and Indy has started his swing onto PlayStation.
We say “started”, because today brings the game’s early access period. Those who pre-ordered the Premium Edition or Collector’s Bundle of the game can dive in right now, roughly two days before the rest of the PlayStation gaming-public.
From MachineGames, in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle combines thrilling set pieces, intricate puzzle-solving, and intense hand-to-hand combat to deliver an authentic Indiana Jones™ experience. Set between the events of Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark™ and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade™, players will unravel a narrative-driven single-player story steeped in archeological mystery, danger, and intrigue.
Bethesda press release
If you did grab one of the aforementioned editions for the PlayStation 5, then you’ll get more than just the early access. Included are the “Last Crusade™ Pack, the Temple of Doom™ Outfit, and a digital-art book, along with the upcoming story DLC,Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Order of Giants™, which will be available later this year”, according to the press release.
Bethesda says that the game will run in 60fps, and feature “SSD optimization for fast streaming and loading”, plus fans will get a visual boost if playing on a PS5 Pro. Naturally, there’s also haptic feedback and adaptive triggers thanks to the DualSense controller, complete with “instant feedback” as to Indy’s status thanks to the light bar. And should would-be explorers get stuck, there’s always Community Game Help.
Expanding his repertoire
As you a see above, the PS5 version of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle takes full advantage of the new platform, but there are also a few things arriving today for all versions of the game. Those include a pair of new whip tricks in “Open Season” and “Sleight of Hand.”
With “Open Season,” whip-cracking an enemy will temporarily cause them to take more damage from subsequent attacks, while when using “Sleight of Hand,” players can disarm an enemy and cause their weapon to fly Indy’s way. These new abilities can be put into action today across all available platforms.

Wrapping up, both the Premium Edition and Collector’s Bundle of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle are out now for the PS5, with the standard version of the game arriving on April 17th. As mentioned too, the game’s additionally out for the Xbox Series X|S and PC.
