Nintendo has just announced a Direct presentation for tomorrow, but don’t expect there to be any Switch 2 game reveals.
Staying the course
If you’ve been following along with the kinda strange trip that Nintendo has been on, as go Switch 2 announcements, then you already know it’s not been the smoothest ride. The console was a poorly kept secret for some time before the official reveal after all, and even the full announcement was spoiled just ahead of time.
That left the company in something of a weird spot, since it didn’t seem ready to fully discuss the Switch’s successor. Still, for its part, Nintendo did actually give fans a look at the set-topper, with the promise that much more would be detailed in an Nintendo Direct on April 2nd. And as far as we’re aware, that’s still very much the plan.
So with that in mind, a just-revealed Nintendo Direct that’ll be happening tomorrow (March 27th) won’t include any Switch 2 talk. Instead, the half-hour show will dive into games coming for the first Switch, presumably all arriving some time this year.
Just what’s meant to be shown is under wraps, and there could certainly be a surprise or two, but we can guess at a few names. Titles like Lunar Remastered Collection, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, and maybe even Metroid Prime 4 could all be present and shown, since they’re all big names that are still in the pipeline. Though, maybe we should add that we’re still a little doubtful that last name is still coming to the first Switch at all. You never know though, this is Nintendo we’re talking about.
Whatever ends up being included, you can tune in tomorrow, March 27th, at 7am pacific time for the full event. You can check it out via Nintendo’s YouTube channel here.
