Multiplayer first-person shooter Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is getting some new content, complete with a new activity.
Purge the heretic
Depending on your platform of choice, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide has been around for a few years now. But even so, the FPS still has a solid player base, and has been on the receiving end of a series of updates from dev eloper Fatshark.
The latest of those arrives this month, with the “Nightmares & Visions” free update. That title hints at the meat and potatoes of this one, as it delivers a new game activity called The Mortis Trials, which casts players into the twisted mind of the ships Psyker. Along with a post-alkuncl special event that’ll also be arriving, players will have to battle their way through a horde of Psyker-forged foes, unlocking new info on the crew of their ship.
That’s not all that’s en route though, as Warhammer 40,000: Darktide’s Havoc Mode will also be getting a refresh, plus the Ogryn class will have a talent tree overhaul, and some game-balancing changes will land as well.
- New game activity – Mortis Trials: mash through waves of enemies in visions induced by the ship’s Psyker. Each time you venture into the Sefoni’s visions, you will be able to build new and exciting playstyles by selecting randomized abilities and buffs for the duration of the trial. By overcoming the Mortis Trials, players will unlock secret information on some characters present on the Mourningstar.
- Havoc mode gets a refresh: the end-game experience testing the resolve of the most seasoned operative reaches a new juncture with improvements and new daunting challenges in the form of four new mutators.
- Time-Limited Special Event: following the release of Nightmares & Visions, Darktide will be hosting a special event focusing on playing Mortis Trials.
- And more! The Ogryn class is getting his Talent Tree revamped, giving players more build opportunities. We will also be bringing a few balancing changes as well as general improvements made to the game.
