Remember Dark Horse Comics’ Harrow County? From Cullen Bunn and Tyler Crook, the horror epic is coming back, in a compendium.
Home is where the heart is
First released in 2015, Harrow County was a new take on horror, spinning frights with a homespun, country vibe. The title came from the creative team of Cullen Bunn and Tyler Crook, and followed a young girl named Emmy, who was much more than what she seemed. Though she was oblivious to it for some time, Emmy was the reincarnation of a witch, one with connections to ghosts, monsters, and assorted other beasts.
With the main run completed though, there hasn’t been much involving the property in some time. That’s to say, until now, with Dark Horse Comics’ unveiling of The Complete Harrow County Compendium, a monster 1078 page softcover that contains that entire run. With all those pages, you might be tempted to think that it has to have more than the comic’s 32 issue run included, and you’d be right.
This fall, the entire award-winning Harrow County tale arrives in paperback with The Complete Harrow County Compendium, featuring a brand-new cover by series co-creator and artist Tyler Crook. Written by Cullen Bunn (Jumpscare, The Sixth Gun) and illustrated and lettered by Crook (The Lonesome Hunters, Out of Alcatraz), The Complete Harrow County Compendium collects issues #1-32 and sketchbooks from the library editions, pinups, the Tales from Harrow County short comics originally printed in Harrow County single issues, short tales about the supernatural by Cullen Bunn and Ma’at Crook, comic introductions to the library editions by Chris Schweizer, and more. Additional art was provided by Carla Speed McNeil (Finder: Chase the Lady, Empowered & Sistah Spooky) and Hannah Lavender (Tomb Raider: Inferno), with additional coloring by Jenn Manley Lee (Dicebox).
Dark Horse Comics press release
As mentioned, The Complete Harrow County Compendium is en route to stores to bring some extra chills and thrills for this Halloween. Watch for it to creep into bookstores on October 28th, and in comics shops the next day, on the 29th.
