Mortal Kombat 1 is expanding, as Havik and Noob Saibot return in the brand new story content called Khaos Reigns.
Viewer discretion is advised
Much like with its predecessor, Mortal Kombat 1 is about to welcome in a big time story expansion that will continue its bloody narrative. Starring the Titan Havik, that’s dubbed Khaos Reigns, and the DLC will also bring back a host of characters that we have yet to see in MK’s new timeline.
Some of those heroes and villains have been met with a bit of the old derision online, specifically with the former robo-ninjas called Cyrax and Sector. Both change what’s come previously to large degree by swapping genders and origins.
This is supposed to be a completely new timeline though, so changes were bound to happen. And anyway, not everything is all-new and all-different, which is apparently a little extra-true in the case of one Noob Saibot.
It’s not just Khaos Reigns that’s on the way either, with both Animalities, as well as the Towers of Time both also coming up for the fighting epic.
Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns is a new expansion for Mortal Kombat 1, the latest installment in the acclaimed Mortal Kombat videogame franchise developed by award-winning NetherRealm Studios, which has sold more than 4 million units worldwide to date. The expansion features the next phase in the genre-defining narrative centered around peace and anarchy with all-new Story mode chapters (available Sept. 24), along with the addition of Kombat Pack 2including six playable characters – Cyrax, Sektor, and Noob Saibot (available Sept. 24), plus Ghostface, T-1000 Terminator, and Conan the Barbarian (post-launch release timing for guests to be announced at a later date).
WB Games press release
Khaos Reigns dawns when the DLC pack arrives on September 24th, 2024, for all versions of Mortal Kombat 1. Keep in mind though, that guest-starring characters like Ghost Face, the T-1000, and Conan the Barbarian are not dropping day and date with the rest. Those will be along at some as-yet unrevealed date.
If you’re planning on buying the pack though, and you don’t mind snagging a pre-order, then you’ll get a four-pack of skins for your early buy-in. The bonus includes “Wedding Scorpion, Empress Mileena, and klassic Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 versions of Sub-Zero and Noob Saibot.”
