Hot Toys takes on Joaquin Phoenix’ Joker with upcoming figure/diorama

We haven’t seen a heck of a lot of collectibles featuring 2019’s Joker film, but Hot Toys is working on something that looks pretty special.

HAHA

Released in 2019, Joker made a huge impact. The movie featured what was essentially an ‘Elseworlds’ take on the famed Batman villain, set in a dirty, grimy 1970’s Gotham. While it hit several important Batman flashpoints, it was a Joker story through and through, offering a new origin story for the clown prince.

Since that smash hit film though, there’s been very little in the way of figures or collectible items from it. That might be due to the ‘R’ rating or the generally adult nature of the story, but whatever the case, we haven’t seen much. If you’ve been waiting for something to add to your own collection though, your time might be coming up.

Just revealed by Sideshow, Hot Toys has the fantastic looking The Joker (Artisan Edition) 1/6 Scale figure on the way, and it comes complete with a piece of the infamous Murray Franklin set.

Inspired by Joaquin Phoenix’s Academy Award-winning portrayal of Arthur Fleck in Joker (2019), The Joker 1/6 Scale Figure by Hot Toys presents this iconic character in tremendous detail.

The figure features a hand-painted headsculpt with The Joker’s signature makeup, and Hot Toys’ amazing rolling eyeball design, which allows for incredibly nuanced expressions. This highly articulated collectible is dressed in a meticulously tailored suit with a patterned shirt and a vest. He comes with a clown mask, a chair, a pistol, a cigarette, and a notebook.

An incredibly detailed diorama base is also included, featuring a Live! with Murray Franklin show set, complete with wood grained texture backdrop, a colorful fabric curtain, and studio lighting including an Applause sign with an LED light-up function.

Sideshow press release

If you’re interested, The Joker (Artisan Edition) 1/6 Scale figure isn’t up for pre-order just yet. It is available for an RSVP though, so you can add your name to the list and get notified when it’s ready for order. Hit the Sideshow link above to get in on that.
