SDCC ’24: Icon Heroes to serve up original Zoo Jitsu Fighters exclusives and much more

A big name in collectibles, Icon Heroes is bringing its original toy line, Zoo Jitsu to San Diego, along with a Power Rangers signing.

Icons of the Zoo

A slick looking toy line that’s might have flown under your radar, Zoo Jitsu Fighters could be a name that action fans should watch. If the title doesn’t strike a chord, it might be because we’re not talking about a licensed series of figures, but instead something wholly original.

Dreamt up by the masters of pop culture collectibles at Icon Heroes, Zoo Jitsu Fighters stars a series of anthropomorphic animals who are captive in what’s more or less a zoo. These animal-men aren’t helpless though, and engage in martial arts tournaments for guests of the facility. That’s to say, they do until they decide that they’re tired of being used for cheap entertainment.

If that sounds cool to you, then stay tuned, as the full wave 1 isn’t out until this fall. But if you want to get in on the line way before that, then you may want to swing by the Icon Heroes booth (#3245) at SDCC next week and check out some great looking variants.

There the company will have a limited edition lineup of the figures, with translucent blue plastic (though it looks purple in the promo shot) heads, hands, and feet, with purple gi-clad bodies. It’s a striking look that seems almost holographic, and will be in stark contrast to the more traditional look of the general line (seen above).

Our regular edition fighters are almost ready to unleash their fury, but at SDCC we’re dropping a super charged exclusive at the Icon Heroes booth! Get your paws on these limited edition action figures featuring Tiago the Tiger, Chico the Cheetah, Paulo the Panther, and Jairo the Jaguar, all cast in a rad translucent blue with killer purple gis! Each figure stands over 6 inches tall, boasts 30 points of articulation, 2 interchangeable heads, and 8 interchangeable paws for ultimate battle posing. $35.00 each (tax included)

Icon Heroes press release

In addition to the figures that you can buy, Icon Heroes will also have wave 1 on display for you to check out in person, and a whole bunch of free Zoo Jitsu Fighters swag. In the booth, will be a Zoo Jitsu Fighters preview comic, pin button, and character poster, all of which will be on hand while supplies last.

Along with the above, Icon Heroes will have a selection of additional merch out and ready for fans to buy. Included in that collection will be Ironguard comic book & trading card protection supplies, plus a set of exclusives from Diamond Select.

  • Marvel Wandavision Vision (White) 1/6 Scale Mini-Bust
  • Star Wars Grievous (Warlord) 1/6 Scale Mini-Bust
  • Star Wars The Mandalorian Offworld Jawa Jumbo 6” figure
Marvel Animated-Style Iron Man Model 42 Mini Statue

Go, Go Power Rangers

So while all of the above will be happening in the Icon Heroes booth all show long, there’s also a signing that Power Rangers fans will want to check out. Also happening in the booth, the autograph session will feature actor and MMA fighter Blake Foster, who you may know better as the Blue Turbo Power Ranger.

Foster will be in attendance at the booth (which again is #3245) from 10am through 3pm pacific time, on July 26th and 27th. That’s a super generous time frame for a signing, so if you’re a Power Rangers fan, the opportunity to add a genuine autograph to your collection should be more than doable.

The only caveat is that it does sound like you’ll have to bring your own Power Rangers stuff for Foster to sign. So make sure you pack something extra before you head to that booth.
