Nintendo Download: Back with a Vengeance!

The “definitive” Shin Megami Tensei V arrives this week for the Switch, along with Monster Hunter Stories, and more.

Not bad

If you’re a Shin Megami Tensei fan, and specifically a Shin Megami Tensei V fan, then there’s a big new release to dig into with Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. Dubbed the “definitive” version of the JRPG, Vengeance features two story paths, with one being totally new, framed by both new locations to visit and fresh enemies to battle.

The other big title on Switch this week is Monster Hunter Stories from Capcom. Much like with the aforementioned game, Monster Hunter Stories is a bumped up version of the already available RPG, bringing it from the 3DS to the Switch with “HD visuals, new voice overs, a museum mode”.

There isn’t much else that might grab your attention, though there is a bundle that packs in both the first and second Octopath Traveller games. If you missed either, then it might be a great opportunity to load your summer up with some of the coolest looking JRPG’s in recent years.

Originally released in 2017 for the Nintendo 3DS system, Monster Hunter Stories for Nintendo Switch features HD visuals, new voice overs, a museum mode filled with art and music from the game and additional content that was previously only available in Japan. Monster Hunter Stories rides onto Nintendo Switch June 14.
