Hot Toys’ new Iron Man armor opens up for a Sideshow unboxing

Made to look like a ready-to-go, open suit of Iron Man armor, Hot Toys’ newest is looking awesome in this unboxing.

Fresh from the crate

So this one’s a little bit different for Hot Toys. Not really a ‘figure’, the Iron Man Mark VII (Open Armor Version from the Iron Man 3 film) is described as a diorama, and it does seem to be every bit that. The piece isn’t really posable, but does have both closed and open options for display, and seems to be uber detailed.

As you might suspect too, it’s packed with LED lighting and a slick display base that looks like Tony Stark’s hall. Speaking of ‘halls’, we’re thinking that this piece would make for a kick-butt centerpiece for fans who have a Hot Toys ‘Hall of Armor’ display in their collections.

Inspired by the dramatic Mark VII suit up scene in Iron Man 3, the Iron Man Mark VII (Open Armor Version) 1/6 Scale Diorama features a standing armor with diecast metal pieces and an intricate interior. Articulated armor pieces at the back of the figure allow for alternate display modes. This striking collectible also features an LED light-up function on the arc reactor and on the interior of the armor. An LED-illuminated backdrop inspired by Tony Stark’s workshop completes this showstopping diorama.
