It’s “Death to the Dead” in Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden… or is it?

The latest look at Focus Entertainment and DONT NOD’s Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden continues to focus on a mortal choice.

Life to the Living

Set in an alternate history and in the land of New Eden, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden casts players as a ghost-hunter. Tasked with severing the ties to the land of the living for the reluctant dead, that means engaging with those who’ve remained, sometimes to brutal ends.

The game’s hook comes in when lead character Antea joins the ranks of the deceased. And as the latest trailer depicts, that’s going to lead to a very tough choice for her lover and fellow Banisher Red. Does he send her to the land of the dead for eternal rest, or seek to revive her and forsake his own oath?

New Eden, 1695: Antea and Red are lovers and Banishers, trained spirit-hunters, protecting people from lingering specters. But when tragedy strikes and Antea herself becomes a ghost, will you honor your Banisher oath, or sacrifice the living in a desperate bid to bring your beloved back?

Players will have to face the weight of the consequences of their choices, just like the game’s voice actors Amaka Okafor (the Netflix series Bodies) and Russ Bain (Shetland) when they played it for themselves recently.
