See “The Weight of Consequences” in the latest look at Banishers: Ghosts of Eden

Supernatural adventure Banishers: Ghosts of Eden has another featurette to check out, and this one is seriously motivated.

Woo, that’s weighty

From Focus Entertainment and DON’T NOD, the upcoming Banishers: Ghosts of Eden looks to be a title to watch. Not only does the spectral-action game look great, but it seem to be spinning a genuinely intriguing narrative, one that’s far from straightforward.

The title takes place in an alternate-universe, and in an American continent that’s well-set in both medieval and fantasy themes. It stars Red Mac Raith and Antea Duarte, a couple who are also a team of ghost-hunting “Banishers” who send specters back to the nether realm. Things take a bad turn though, when Antea is killed and becomes a ghost herself, and the pair must decide on whether she’ll move on, or seek a way to reclaim life.

As you can imagine, that results in a compelling story, backed by some heavily weighted motivations for both heroes. Or that’s the goal at least, according to the latest trailer that includes chats with both headlining actors, Russ Bain and Amaka Okafor.

Explore the game through the eyes of the duo’s English voice actors: Russ Bain (Shetland) and Amaka Okafor (known for her leading role in the critically acclaimed series Bodies). They’re accompanied by Head of Narration Stéphane Beauverger. You’ll discover the importance of choices and their impact on the mystical world of Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden. Immerse yourself in the lives of the people of New Eden to uncover their terrible secrets and exorcise a world overrun by supernatural forces.

After Antea’s death and her return as a ghost, the couple faces an impossible moral dilemma. With Antea’s spirit now stuck between the worlds of the living and the dead, the duo must make a heart-wrenching choice: release her soul and let her go for good…or betray their Banisher vows by sacrificing the living to bring her back to life. Use your skills to combine Antea’s spiritual powers with Red’s formidable arsenal and break the link between tormented souls and the living they haunt.
