Fresh from its run on PC, Gloomhaven has made the jump to consoles as of today, with a pair of editions to pick from.
The trifecta
From tabletop sensation to PC game, Gloomhaven has made a name for itself on every platform it’s graced. Now Twin Sails Interactive and developer Saber Interactive have brought the turn-based, strategic play of the PC edition to consoles.
Fans can dive into the title’s card-based strategy play, and pick from a cast that incudes 17 unlockable characters to tackle its over 250 different scenarios with. Solo play is included of course, but fans can also get an old school adventuring party going online, with 4-player co-op and crossplay (including all platforms).
Gloomhaven, adapted for consoles by Saber Interactive, includes all content from the original board game, plus all-new features and an exclusive, digital-only Guildmaster campaign. Unlock 17 unique characters, strategize your team synergies, and play your deck wisely in this deep and rewarding fantasy adventure where every choice is crucial. Carve your way through terrifying dungeons, hordes of undead, fearsome monsters and more to reap your rewards – or die trying…
Twin Sails Interactive press release
As mentioned, this isn’t a one-and-done release, because there’s a fair bit of content out for Gloomhaven. Remember, it’s been out on the PC for a while, and with that in mind there are some expansions that have also made the leap to consoles. Those include the 20 hour-packed “Solo Scenarios: Mercenary Challenges”, and the major 30 hour expansion that is “Jaws of the Lion”.
If you want into those packs right from the start, then you have two choices outside of the base game. Gloomhaven Mercenaries Edition includes that base title plus the “Solo Scenarios: Mercenary Challenges”. Want the full package? Then you want the Gold Edition, which includes all of the above, plus Jaws of the Lion.
Also worth mentioning is that while everything here is available digitally for PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch platforms, there is a physical edition coming for some of those consoles as well. That will hit tomorrow, courtesy of Nighthawk Interactive, and will include the Mercenaries version of the game. Look for PS4, PS5, and Switch copies of that.
