A new Blade series is coming up from writer Bryan Hill and artist Elena Casagrande, and it’s going to turn Marvel’s mystic world upside-down.

Yes, it’s another first issue for an established character’s new run, but that’s the way the industry churns at this point. And anyway, this one might actually be worth a free set of digits, as it’s a new start for Blade, with a new creative team and what sounds like some cool ideas.
But don’t worry, because the vampiric hero is once again battling the evil forces of the Marvel Universe’s darkest corners. Some things don’t change all that much, after all. It’s the foe that Blade’s up against that’s new. Well, that and the reason it’s free on the Earth.
It’s kind of his fault.

BLADE, the Daywalker, is back in an all-new ongoing solo series written by Bryan Hill (Killmonger) and drawn by Marvel’s Stormbreaker Elena Casagrande (Black Widow). Look for Blade #1 on the racks this July 19th, along with the slew of variant editions that you see above. Of particular note, naturally, is the Frank Miller cover. Might be worth seeking that one out.
