It’s been a long, long time in development, but wow does Atomic Heart look slick. Focus Entertainment has just released a deep look at Mundfish’s alternate-history-powered aRPG in action, so if you’ve been waiting for gameplay, today is your day.
The over 8 minute video is packed with looks at vehicles, combat, story segments, and just about everything else. And all of that is wrapped up in a haunting, steampunk-ish, post-WWII world.
Unforgiving combat and explosive encounters have you blasting rogue robots, giant machines and even mutants. Make sure to adapt your fighting style to each opponent, stay wary of your environment and upgrade your equipment to make your way through artificial madness. With three difficulty levels to choose from, you can decide just how atomic you want the experience to be—whether you’re a hardcore player looking for ever more challenging action, or an adventurer eager to explore eerie environments and an engrossing narrative in a Story Mode-type experience.

Pick your poison
Ready to dig into Atomic Heart? Well, you have a little while to wait yet, as the game doesn’t hit till February 21st. And while we’re on the subject, you have some choices to make too. Atomic Heart will be made available in 4 different versions.
Those look a little something like this:
- The Limited Edition Bundle, exclusive to the Focus Entertainment Store, which includes the base game, a Steelbook®, a metal poster and the official artbook designed by Mundfish
- The Standard Edition, which includes the base game
- The Gold Edition, which includes the base game and the Atomic Pass
- The Premium Edition, which includes the base game, the Atomic Pass, an exclusive digital artbook and extra cosmetics
On top of all of that, there’s also the Atomic Pass, which will let players get into the coming expansions. Look for those to include “new areas and labs, as well as new weapons, enemies, bosses and more!”
Oh, and don’t forget that the title will be a part of Game Pass as well. So if you have that, you’re already good to go for the base experience.
