Get your first look at WWE 2K23’s Wargames match

Double the ring, double the carnage. WWE 2K23 is the first wrestling title from 2K to feature the classic, fan-favorite Wargames match.

William Regal voice: WARGAMES

Wargames is one of those matches that’s been around forever, but has never gotten any love from a video game. While the WWE version has only been in existence for a few years, Wargames actually started decades ago, in the late 80s.

Created by Legend Dusty Rhodes, Wargames would go on to become a staple event match for WCW. Of course, as all wrestling fans know, that company effectively came to an end in 2001, when it was purchased by WWE. And with that, Wargames kind of fell into obscurity.

That’s to say, till just a few years ago, when it once again became a PPV attraction. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s a pretty unique setup that involves two caged rings side-by-side, and teams of wrestlers taking each other on.

This year’s WWE video game from 2K will incorporate the match for the first time, and as you’ll see in the new trailer, it’s looking just as vicious as its real-life counterpart.

Along with the double-cage, the above look at WWE 2K23 also included a mix of current wrestlers and Legends. The likes of classic Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold Steve Austin are featured right along with Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns. So no matter which generation of wrestling is your favorite, it seems as though 2K23 will serve up something you can get into.

WWE 2K23 arrives for Xbox and PlayStation platforms, as well as the PC, on March 17th.
