Nintendo Download: Playing the Golden Oldies

If you somehow missed it, N64 legend Goldeneye is back, and a part of the Switch’s Online catalog. It arrived today, along with a selection of other titles.

Bond, James Bond

Is Goldeneye 007 the best Bond game ever? It might be, as the Rare FPS brought one of the best-loved 007 adventures to Nintendo’s classic console right at the height of its popularity. And while the developer could have mailed it in with a license that big, the end result was far from that.

Sure some PC gamers like to poo-poo the console classic, but Goldeneye was a legit great shooter. And on top of that, it also pushed the genre along in a big way on consoles. But beyond all that, it’s just fun, and if you can get past the now-dated looks, it’s still a multiplayer gem too.

While Goldeneye is pretty plainly the spotlight arrival this week though, there are a few others worth noting. One of those is the Colossal Cave remake, from adventure game icon Roberta Williams. Past that there’s the stylish Trek to Yomi, and a massive drop of smaller launches.

So scroll down and check ’em all out.
