Unbox the Neon Tech Iron Man (and gantry) with Sideshow

Expanding the unique “Neon Tech” line is Hot Toys, this time with a suiting-up Iron Man, complete with gantry. Check him out in this first look video.

Tron-tastic

The Neon Tech line continues to be one of the coolest looking variations on the Iron Man theme out there. From Hot Toys, the series of figures basically takes Tony’s (and Rhodey’s) iconic armors and paints ’em up in some very Tron-like color schemes.

The newest addition is even better than what’s come before too, since it comes complete with a gantry. Made to look like Iron Man is suiting up, the gantry is also drenched in neon, and completes a slick, glossy blue and black image.

Here’s a deep dive into the set, courtesy of Sideshow Toys:

The Neon Tech Iron Man with Suit-Up Gantry 1/6 Scale Figure Set by Hot Toys takes Tony Stark’s innovative and stylish designs to a new level. Pop culture and neon art collide in this vibrant reimagining of the iconic Iron Man armor and Tony Stark’s workshop from Iron Man 2.

The all new diecast Iron Man figure is an eye-catching piece with highly detailed black armor embellished with luminous teal patterns, as well as LED light-up features on the eyes, palms, lower chest, and forearms. Featuring over 30 points of articulation, the multi-layered armor at the waist allows for enhanced flexibility. The armor also features articulated flaps and built-in missile launchers. The figure comes with interchangeable forearm armor, laser effects, and a pair of attachable shoulder-mounted weapons.

The highly detailed, articulated gantry has five mechanical arms for disarming the upper body armor, plus four smaller mechanical arms for disarming Iron Man’s leg armor. Painted with luminous, reflective patterns, the gantry also has a light-up feature on the base.

Sideshow Toys press release

Neon Tech Iron Man with Suit-Up Gantry is expected to ship some time in the first half of this year, so keep an eye on Sideshow for announcements. In the meantime though, it’s still up for pre-order via the retailer, and can be found here.
