Evercade’s next retro-portable goes up for pre-order on Sept. 6

Retro fans have another outlet for their favorite Evercade titles, with the company’s newest, the EXP. It hits pre-order phase on September 6th.

Leveling up

Have you tried the Evercade handheld yet? How about the at-home console? There are already a few ways to get in on the company’s action, but as of this fall, there’ll be yet another.

That comes in the form of the Evercade EXP. The new unite is sleeker in design than what’s come before, with improvements to the UI. Even better, it’s got full support for vertical TATE mode, so you can play vertical-scrolling arcade classics with no muss, no fuss. All in all, it’s an impressive update to a console that was already pretty slick.

Interested? If you are, you’re going to be happy to know that the EXP is set to launch some time before the end of the year. But while there’s no firm release date just yet, we do know when you’ll be able to pre-order.

That magical date is September 6th, so a little under a month from now. Fans will be able to pre-order either the base model, or the Evercade EXP Limited Edition. The LE set includes a black version of the console, plus quite a few extras.

The LE will be available exclusives through UK retailer Funstock. A waiting list has been opened for it, which you can get in on here. As for the basic EXP, that’ll be sold via Funstock as well, but also Amazon, Best Buy, Castlemania, and Songbird. Check that out here.
