Scarlet Nexus updated to Phase 2, complete with new demo

A bit of a sleeper hit, Bandai Namco’s Scarlet Nexus is receiving some support today in the form of update 1.08, plus a free demo.

Taste of blood

Bandai Namco’s Scarlet Nexus debuted almost a year ago on consoles and the PC, and has to this point gotten a fair shake of fan and critical acclaim. Now the game is ready for its next version, with Phase 2.

According to the publisher, Phase 2 adds in the Very Easy mode. So if you’re not that great at SC, but you’re digging the story that the action title tells, then this new option is for you.

Released on June 25, 2021, SCARLET NEXUS challenges players to take on the role of Yuito Sumeragi or Kasane Randall as they team up with a colorful cast of characters to strike down the deranged mutants known as the Others with powerful psycho-kinetic abilities in the futuristic city of New Himuka.

But that’s not all, as there’s a little something for those who haven’t taken the plunge yet too. Aside from Phase 2, today also brings the demo of the game. And yes, of course it’s free to download and enjoy. Actually too, you might want to play it even if you have been playing the full retail edition, since you can nab some bonuses for completing it.

Finish up the Story Demo, and you’ll get:

  • Two Attachments
    • Bunny Ear Mask (Head) [White]
    • OSF Standard Issue Pack [Black]
  • Two Plug-ins
    • Forcefield: Mk II
    • Power Enhance: Mk II

All of the above is available right now for both consoles and the PC.
