This year’s Hellfire Gala to lead into Marvel’s Judgement Day crossover

Last year, the now-recurring X-Men event that is the Hellfire Gala led to some pretty big events. This year will be no different, with lots more to come.

Judgement on mutants

You’ve no doubt seen what the forthcoming Judgement Day will entail. The X-Men will be facing the Eternals, who’ve reclassified mutants as Deviants. And if you know anything about Marvel’s immortal warriors, then you know what that means; there’s a massive battle on the horizon. Oh, and the Avengers will be caught squarely in the middle.

But before we get to that, there’s the Hellfire Gala. A swanky mutant-only event held on the island nation of Krakoa, the Gala will be serving as a lead-in to Judgement Day. Though, it sounds like it’ll be a marquee issue for the new generation of X all by itself.

At last year’s gala, mutants changed the face of the solar system, terraforming Mars and claiming it for mutantkind. This time around, they’ll once again set out to bring radical transformation to the Marvel Universe and are inviting every super hero on the planet to witness it. And when an uninvited guest crashes the party, the chaos that ensues will cause cracks in the very foundation of Krakoa and lead directly into the biggest Marvel story of the year– Kieron Gillen and Valerio Schiti’s JUDGMENT DAY! All that plus the reveal of the new X-Men lineup and the winner of the mega-popular X-Men fan vote. The seeds for what’s to come in the X-Men franchise over the next few years are planted right here!

Marvel Comics press release
