DST’s Invincible action figures hitting retail this summer

Diamond Select is getting invincible. Or actually make that Invincible, with a capital ‘I’. Skybound Entertainment’s heroes are going plastic.

Are you invincible?

Skybound Comics’ other smash hit, Invincible ran for 144 issues. The book was just about as big as an independent comic can get. It might have been just slightly below the company’s other smash, The Walking Dead, in terms of popularity.

A superhero story, Invincible centers on the title character (yes, his codename is Invincible), and his father. That father though, is no mere mortal, but a Superman-like figure known as Omni-Man.

Though it was a hit, the superhero had little presence outside of that comic. But as you can see, that will be changing soon enough. The book will be heading to Amazon Prime for a brand new animated series this summer, and will be getting the action figure treatment from DST around the same time.

The figures will stand at seven inches, and each will come with a second angry head, multiple interchangeable hands, and baseball gloves. Invincible will come with a baseball and a Reanimen head, while Omni-Man will come with a chunk of concrete and a Flaxan arm. Each figure will feature approximately 18 points of articulation.

Both of wave 1’s figures are available for pre-order right now from your local comics shop, and come as you see here. There will also be stripped down, less accessorized editions hitting Walgreens stores, though those have yet to be dated.

About Jason Micciche

Jason's been knee deep in videogames since he was but a lad. Cutting his teeth on the pixely glory that was the Atari 2600, he's been hack'n'slashing and shoot'em'uping ever since. Mainly an FPS and action guy, Jason enjoys the occasional well crafted title from every genre.
