Microsoft now offering digital refunds on Cyberpunk 2077

Taking Sony’s lead from last week, Microsoft is now offering refunds on digitally purchased editions of Cyberpunk 2077 on their Xbox platform.

Money back

Last week we told you about a new initiative from Sony regarding CD Projekt Red’s beleaguered Cyberpunk 2077. In that story, we detailed how Sony would be issuing refunds to gamers who purchased copies of the game digitally, on the PlayStation Store.

Now Microsoft is following suit, doing the same thing for Xbox players who’ve made the digital-jump to Cyberpunk 2077 on their console. It was a move that the company honestly had to make, with Sony scooping up some positive coverage on the matter to that point.

The company was quite tactful in its wording, saying that they understand the CD Projekt Red shipped the game under “extremely challenging circumstances”. From there, Microsoft went on to say that they realize however, that “some players have been unhappy with the current experience on older consoles.”

You can ready the full statement and start the process for a refund via the tweets below.

All of this though, does not come with a delisting on the Xbox Marketplace. Microsoft is, so far, leaving the game up for anyone who’d like to give it a shot. If you have a Series X, that might not be a completely crazy idea either. The next-gen Microsoft rig seems to handle the game much better than the last-gen one.
