One of last year’s biggest RPG’s is making its way to the Nintendo Switch. Obsidian’s The Outer Worlds is set for a March 2020 release.
Fast trip
So here’s a little surprise to kick off 2020, and a pretty good one at that. In what is yet another minor Switch miracle, Obsidian’s popular RPG The Outer Worlds is heading to Nintendo’s console. It’s landing sooner than you might think too. Like ‘March 6th’ soon.
The game follows CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3, as another title that probably shouldn’t be capable of running on the Switch. A port to the Switch can’t be easy, since the machine is fairly underpowered compared to the Xbox One and PS4. Yet, here we are.
The Outer Worlds sports a huge playground, and some very nice graphics too. It’s unclear if either of those things will take hits in the translation to Switch. From the post on the Obsidian forums that announced the game though, this sounds like it will be a complete version.
But even though the game will have a retail release, it won’t have a cart. Yep, the boxed copy will be just that – a box (with a digital download code inside).
