Block out some time for a trip to Hyboria, Funcom’s Conan Exiles is free to play this weekend on the PC via Steam.
Exiled
One of our games of the year for last year, Conan Exiles is an excellent semi-multiplayer survival game. The title casts gamers as an exile, a rogue cast out and into the badlands of the Hyborian age.
The task of course, is to survive by any means necessary. That includes forging armor, a home, feeding yourself, and battling enemies both human and AI controlled. There might not be much of a story, but the gameplay and breadth of things that you have open to you to do is impressive. It’s also really fun.
And now, it’s free. Well, it is for a weekend anyway. Publisher Funcom announced today that the full game is free to play on Steam for the PC today through Sunday – March 7th to March 10th.
“From Early Access through launch to where we are today, Conan Exiles has made an exceptional journey and we are incredibly proud of what it has become,” said Funcom CEO Rui Casais. “With the continued support from our community we have had the opportunity to keep expanding on the game with new content, new features, and continuous improvements to technology and gameplay. We are truly excited about the opportunity to open the flood gates this weekend and allow everyone a chance to try it out.”
