With his current series coming to an end, Bloodshot is about to be graced with another new series from Valiant. Bloodshot: Rising Spirit #1 is set for this October.

Bloodshot is back. Honestly though, he never really left. Valiant Comics has a habit of ending series’ early. Basically, their model has them making maxi-series’ out of what would traditionally be ongoing books. So it’s more or less like each over-arching story has it’s own subtitle, and a series of books all to itself. It’s all self-contained, more or less.
Bloodshot is definitely one of those, and his newest run will be called Rising Spirit. If you’ve been reading, then you know that harkens back to the military company that birthed him, Project Rising Spirit.
The new series, which is also technically ongoing, will be helmed by writers Lonnie Nadler and Zac Thompson, with artist Ken Lashley. Aside from the creatives, Rising Spirit also has something else to hook in new readers. Quite frankly, it’s a little nuts.
As a retailer incentive, the first issue will have a special cover printed on glass.
Following in the footsteps of Valiant’s ultra-successful run of Brushed Metal Variants, the BLOODSHOT RISING SPIRIT #1 Glass Cover Variant will be printed via a special multi-colored process on a carefully devised pane of glass, with artwork by superstar creator Doug Braithwaite (Justice)!
That sounds crazy, and I kind of want one. On top of the gimmick, there’s also a pre-order bundle that Valiant is offering. That set will get you the first 8 issues of the new series, presented in expanded format.
