New modes, SnapMap goodies, and an expansion of the multiplayer are all on the way for Bethesda and iD’s Doom.
Tomorrow is the day (July 29th), and Update #2 is the download. Doom gets bigger and badder with all the stuff that you saw in the trailer above. Well, most of the stuff.
If you didn’t catch it, there was also a tease for Unto the Evil in there. While Update #2 brings a good deal of new content, UoE is the first big expansion of the game’s multiplayer suite. It adds in a surprising amount of stuff too.
- Three new multiplayer maps: Offering, Cataclysm, and Ritual
- A new player-controlled demon: Harvester
- A new weapon: UAC EMG Pistol
- New equipment: Kinetic Mine
- New ways to customize your DOOM Marine, including additional armor sets, patterns, colors, and taunts
- New hack modules
You won’t have to wait all that long to dig into this new level of hell either, as Unto the Evil drops on August 5th. You’ll be able to grab it then for your copy of the game on the Xbox One, PS4, and PC. It’ll cost you $14.99 USD, and is a part of the Season Pass, if you have that.
We can also confirm a Double XP weekend leading right into that launch. Hitting tomorrow and running through the 1st (Monday), this weekend will bestow the gift of double the experience on gamers who log on and blast away. The weekend starts up at 12pm tomorrow and runs through 12pm on the aforementioned Monday, so get the XP while the getting’s good.
