Telltale’s Minecraft: Story Mode Trailer Debuted at MineCon

Minecraft and Telltale fans unite! Minecraft: Story Mode trailer debuted at MineCon this past weekend in London and we finally get a glimpse into how Telltale made a story mode from the extremely open world Minecraft.

Jesse, the game’s protagonist, and his friends become famous for slaying an Ender Dragon. Now, they set out to find the legendary Order of the Stone, a group also renowned for their amazing feats. Check out the trailer below:

This game has intrigued me from the first announcement. Based on the trailer, Minecraft: Story Mode should be pretty fun and actually have a great story. The trailer didn’t show any crafting from the original’s game, but alluding to it. Right now the only things really Minecraft about it are the pixels and the lore. It would be really fun if part of the story included using a workbench to craft, but who knows if or how they’d fit it in. It still looks fun and cute and I’ll probably play it as a Telltale fan, but hopes are staying low.

Minecraft: Story Mode releases later this year on PS4, PS3, PC, Mac, Xbox One, Xbox 360, iOS, and Android.
