How Destiny is nothing like Halo, why the ‘angry gamer’ stereotype needs to die, and 11 hysterical gaming glitches, all in this edition of the Radar.
8 ways Destiny is in NO WAY similar to Halo
Think Destiny, Bungie and Activision’s newest FPS, looks a wee bit like Microsoft’s classic gaming franchise? Well, you’d probably be right in some way since Bungie was responsible for all of the above and definitely has a signature style all their own.
Here in this piece though, GR’s Ryan Taljonick goes over some of the finer points on Destiny and highlights just why it is that it’s really… that it’s really… it’s differ- okay. It’s actually exactly the same. Go figure.
Read on for some eye-opening comparisons.
We need to kill the ‘angry gamer’ archetype
Writer David Houghton puts his thoughts to form on just why it is that the ‘angry gamer’ stereotype needs to go away as fast as is humanly possible. This piece isn’t about one particular aggravations aspect of the angry crew, no; it’s about all of them.
Gamers cursing a blue streak about nothing, getting furious about Kim Kardashian and her crappy non-game that made a billion dollars, and the industry itself distilling complex and thought-provoking titles down into “shotgun porn” while on stage at E3 are all here and accounted for. All of the above are great points and make sense, and Houghton’s assertion that all of this needs to fade away for the good of the industry is more than valid.
Though I doubt you’ll even get fanboys and girls to settle down and not rage at the slightest whatever, it would be nice to have a little adult behavior in the gaming clubhouse. Read on for more.
11 gaming glitches that will make you laugh until you vomit
Laughing till you vomit does not sound good. At all. What we have here decided is good though. 11 glitches spanning quite a few years make up the meat and potatoes of this piece. If you’ve ever encountered a glitch in a game that brought you to tears laughing, then you know what these are all about.
Personal favorites- Goldeneye, Heavy Rain, and GTA. Read through and tell us yours, even ones that didn’tt make GamesRadar’s list; the more the merrier.

Ha ha ha, how did I not come across this glitch in Goldeneye? I played the hell out of that game back in the day but never encountered this before. I love seeing stuff like that in games, it always makes for hilarious webms and gifs.
Same across the board Chris. I never heard of this before, but now I might have to connect my N64 again just to try it out… and play more Goldeneye lol
Same here, I really should fire up Goldeneye again, it’s been a long time since I’ve last played it.
Did you ever play the remake? The one with Daniel Craig Bond?
It definitely wasn’t bad, just didn’t have the same magic as the first one.
I didn’t. I was tempted to, but then I heard some not so savory things about the game and decided against purchasing it. So how is the online for Goldeneye?
Was okay at first, then fell off into nothingness of course lol The game had no legs at all. Unless you’re into seeing the differences in the story (there are a TON), don’t bother at this point.
Ha, yeah in hindsight I should have asked “how WAS the online” considering Wii’s is going now. Yeah, definitely not going to bother. Glad I made the choice not to buy it.
