The Punisher #2 (Comics) Preview

Marvel’s number one vigilante heads to the left coast to follow a trail of drugs and gangs and ends up in the middle of a whole lotta trouble.

This February, Frank Castle continues his journey out west in THE PUNISHER #2 – and the City of Angels has no idea what it’s in for! From blockbuster writer Nathan Edmondson and red-hot artist Mitch Gerads – a lead on a major source of guns and drugs finds Punisher hot on the tail of the Dos Soles gang. But when he finds himself in the crosshairs of dozens of armed thugs – they’ll find the Punisher isn’t so easily dispatched! Now, with the help of some unlikely allies (including a coyote), the stage is set for Frank to wage his war on crime on the streets of L.A. – if he lives that long! Los Angeles is also home to some of the Marvel Universe’s big baddies, and you’ll never believe who’s turf Frank just stepped on! Don’t miss the shocking last page when the explosive new series continues in THE PUNISHER #2!

Ever the east coast guy, it’s kind of interesting that Marvel chose to shake up the character for the relaunch of his solo book. Nonetheless, here he is- and right in the middle of a west coast gang war. Of course, where else would Frank be when there’s a trail of “guns and drugs” to chase down?

Also interesting is that Marvel is seriously teasing at some big villains that might be coming the The Punisher in the near future. Just who exactly holds the west coast in their grasp is a mystery to me though. I don’t know if I’m out of the loop or what (probably), but I don’t remember any major baddies being holed up on the coast.

There’s a lot of questions about The Punisher going forward and answers are going to be coming in hot like bullets from an assault rifle when the book hits stands on February 19th from the creative team of Nathan Edmondson and Mitch Gerads.
