Unity #1 (comics) Preview

Toyo Harada’s team forms with one goal in mind- eliminate X-O Manowar.

To kill a king…he has created an army. The world’s most dangerous man, Toyo Harada, has been struck by the one thing he never thought possible – fear. Halfway across the globe, a new power threatens to topple modern civilization and, to preempt the cataclysm that is to come, Harada will unite the most unforgiving team the world has ever known – UNITY. Their mission: defeat the threat responsible for the destruction of MI-6, the decimation of an alien world, and the occupation of Eastern Europe… Unseat the warrior king armed with the universe’s most powerful weapon… Kill X-O Manowar!

You know, when you look at the situation from Aric’s perspective, this is a very different tale. The man in the X-O armor took out MI-6 because they were trying to do the same thing to him (and were infiltrated by aliens), then followed his assailants back to their home world (where they were holding his own people as slaves) and destroyed them. Then he comes back to Earth to get in a little R&R and what does he find? His homeland as a shadow of its former self. All of this ticks him off considerably and that’s completely understandable.

Of course, from the other direction, nobody really knows why Aric did all those things and they sure don’t know why he’s taken over Eastern Europe. As for Harada- he’s just scared that he’s not the most powerful man on Earth anymore… and he’s probably right.

The head of the Harbinger group has assembled an army to take Aric down, but that just might be not nearly enough. Find out when Unity kicks off with issue #1 on November 13th from the team of Matt Kindt and Doug Braithwaite, with variant covers by Bryan Hitch, J.G. Jones, Travel Foreman, Paolo Rivera, and Clayton Crain.
