Ubisoft’s free-to-play take on the Starz series Spartacus is now available on the PlayStation 3.
Set during the late Roman Empire, Spartacus: Legends puts players in charge of their own stable of gladiators, with the goal of raising the most powerful house of warriors in all of Capua. Spartacus: Legends allows players to follow in the footsteps of Spartacus as he grows from a mere slave to near mythological status as the Champion of the Capua and Bringer of Rain. Developed by Kung-Fu Factory, Spartacus: Legends will completely immerse players in the glorious world of gladiatorial combat.
Games about the good ol’ Roman pastime of gladitorial combat are few and far between, which is kind of odd when you think about it. After all, it’s a ‘sport’ that’s ripe for exploration in a game with the natural bent towards one of the longest standing and popular genres- the fighting game.
Developer Kung Fu Factory promises “a deep and robust fighting game experience with intense visceral combat, ruthless and varied armor and weapons” with the game which offers both single and online multiplayer modes. A total of 8 fighters make up the roster of playable gladiators and gamers can customize fighting styles to their taste.
Spartacus: Legends is already out on Xbox Live and is available now on the PSN.
