Alice: Otherlands film on the way to production

American McGee’s Alice: Otherlands film project has made it through Kickstarter and now heads towards a series of animated films and maybe a whole lot more.

Now, keep in mind that the project has already passed through the Kickstarter process and was successful- so you don’t have to jump on and contribute to push this through. Though, if you like you still can right here.

That said, there’s still a bunch of things on the horizon for Otherlands including a possible animated series and maybe even a feature film. Creator American McGee has really stuck with his monster here and it’s impressive to see. He couldn’t be more thrilled with what the future is promising either…

“I’m more excited than a shark in a tornado,” said American McGee, CEO of Spicy Horse. “We’re already in meetings and I’m on the road next week to wrangle up more interest. Working with Alice and the Insane Children that love her is one of my favorite things in the world.”

McGee’s company Spicy Horse, with the successful Kickstarter bid, is now the owner of the film rights to the series and will start work on a series of digital shorts based on it. From there, all of what was mentioned above is a distinct possibility for Alice and, with actual stars like Tsui Hark (Once Upon A Time in China) and Chris Vrenna of Nine Inch Nails/Marylin Manson already attached, The Otherlands just might be headed for some serious greatness.

The release of the first digital short is scheduled for December 2014 so stay tuned Alice fans, your trip down the rabbit hole is just beginning.
