Diablo IV revealed

The next chapter in Blizzard’s legendary action RPG series is official. Diablo IV is coming. See the first details and the non-gameplay trailer.

By the blood of the willing

Diablo IV looks to tell the story of Lilith, the creator of Sanctuary, the world that Diablo takes place in. It also looks like it features much of what has made the series so iconic, including multiple classes and plenty of looting.

Before we go any further though, check out this “announce” cinematic:

Check it out? Even if you’re upset with Blizz for certain non-gaming matters right now (that we won’t go into here), you have to admit that trailer definitely makes the wait for the fourth Diablo that much more difficult.

As for what’ll actually be going into the gameplay itself, it sure seems like it’ll be a pretty familiar affair. Though it looks darker than ever in terms of story, and with some truly massive enemies.

Looking great. Though, while that sample of gameplay looks great, there’s also a lot we don’t know yet. For example, so far we know that Sanctuary will be a seamless world this time, and we have the Barbarian, Sorceress, and Druid as classes.

There are sure to be more announcements coming on that front however. And while some things will be returning, there are likely to be more new elements as well. Whether Diablo IV can differentiate itself enough from what’s come before remains to be seen.

I’d imagine there more info is coming up sooner than later though. With the PC, PS4, and Xbox One announced as platforms, it’s almost a sure thing that we’ll be seeing D4 some time in 2020.
