New Dragon Age Inquisition DLC not coming to last-gen consoles

If you’ve been playing Dragon Age Inquisition on the Xbox 360 or PS3, and are looking for more, I’ve got some bad news for you. Though it’s got a touch of silver lining.

The last generation of consoles, including the Xbox 360 and PS3, is over. While 2014 saw quite a few cross generation launches, it’s getting to be less and less the case. There’s increasingly little doubt of that as we move through 2015 especially since the majority of the big games have been premiering on the PS4 and Xbox One solely.

Case in point- Dragon Age Inquisition. EA and BioWare have just announced that all future  downloadable content for the game will be skipping last-gen systems. If you have a current generation piece of hardware like the Xbox One and PS4, then you’re fine though, and you will get to access all the new stuff. There’s no reason for this given in particular, but if I had to guess, I’d say that the costs of actually producing all this stuff on two levels of hardware just doesn’t pan out for EA.

While older generation players might be upset with this, there is a little good news if you’ve been thinking of upgrading your hardware or your copy of DAI. And that’s basically that you’ll be able to transfer your saves between your PS3 and PS4 or Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Also, you’ll even be able to download the content that you already own, when you ‘migrate’ from one console to another.

Now, there will be a separate piece of software that you’ll have to download in order to make the switch, s it won’t be an automatic thing, but the tool will be arriving shortly alongside patch #8 for the game, so you won’t have to wait too long for it. Read more about that update here.
