Ubisoft to unveil the next Assassin’s Creed next week

A short teaser, loaded with hints, and a still image are all we have to go on for right now. By the 12th though, we’ll know plenty more about the next game in the Assassin’s Creed series.

The page line ‘Oppression Has to End’ certainly is in keeping with the whole AC theme. Then there’s the hidden blade of course, it wouldn’t be an Assassin’s Creed title without that. There’s lots more actually hidden away in this little tease though. For starters, there’s that brass knuckle that the character is wearing.

Knucks have a certain ‘street’ flair to them, as they’ve been associated with the less savory elements of society for a while. That’s not where they got their start though, as the weapon started life in the American Civil War in the late 1800s… then there’s that cane. A duck’s-headed walking stick that has an interesting neck. Looks like it might open up to reveal a sword perhaps? Could be. Walking sticks with swords concealed inside have been around for ages, but were common with British men in the 17 and 1800s.

Lots to chew on there, but we won’t have long to wait to see what the truth will be as Ubisoft has announced that the next game in the series, presumably on target for a Holiday 2015 launch, will be revealed in all its glory on the 12th. The show starts up at 5pm UK time, though if you can’t catch it don’t worry, we’ll have all the info here on BG for you too.
