Evercade to get more Tomb Raider with second collected cart

Lara Croft isn’t done with Blaze Entertainment’s Evercade just yet, as the heroine will be returning for a second collection.

Raiding again

Those who own one of the various Evercade units from Blaze Entertainment have had a pretty nice year or so. Not only did the console family get a pair of Duke Nukem collections and the original Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver titles added to its library, but it’s also now home to the first three Tomb Raider games.

The action classics were brought to fans by way of a collected cartridge, just like all of Evercade’s offerings, and even featured in a bundle pack with the system. Well, if you dug that, you’ll want to see what Blaze is cooking up now, as an upcoming release will be bringing Lara back for more.

Tomb Raider Collection 2 was revealed today, and will come packed with Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, and Tomb Raider: Chronicles. While there will be two full games on the cart, there’s a little bonus too, in the form of “The Times Bonus Level“.

Not sure what that is? Well, we weren’t either, so you’re in good company. Basically though, it’s a special one-off level that was made available only for PC players, via “The Times Newspaper“. The level will be playable for the first time on a console, thanks to the new collection, as a part of Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation’s menu.

  • Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation (1999) – Follow Lara Croft on a thrilling quest across Egypt as she uncovers the secrets of an ancient tomb, encounters supernatural forces, and fights to survive. Packed with puzzles, action, and stunning locations, this game is a celebrated classic and a key title in Lara’s illustrious career.
  • Tomb Raider: Chronicles (2000) – A unique retrospective on Lara’s past adventures, blending new challenges with glimpses of her earlier escapades. From high-tech heists to mythological mysteries, this game showcases Lara’s versatility and enduring charm.
  • The Times Bonus Level – Originally released in 2000 as a standalone level for PC users through The Times Newspaper, this special level is set in a mysterious Egyptian tomb. It has now been meticulously converted for inclusion in the 32-bit version, marking the first time it has been playable on in 32-bit form. The level is available from the in-game menu for Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation

Blaze Entertainment press release

Tomb Raider Collection 2 will be compatible with all Evercade hardware, including the HyperMegaTech! Super Pocket console lineup. Just a heads up on that though, as Blaze says that you might need to update your firmware in order to play.

Look for pre-orders to open up this month, on February 28th, with the game arriving in stores this April.
