Heavy metal action comes to the PC this month with Valfaris: Mecha Therion

The sequel to the bloody, side-scrolling action-fest that was Valfaris is on the way this month, with Mecha Therion.

Have mecha, will travel

After escaping the deadly (and freaky) planet of Valfaris, the heroic Therion continues his pursuit of Lord Vroll. This time around though, things are a little bit different. Therion is clad in a massive mecha for the chase, hence the title of Big Sugar and developer Steel Mantis’ action sequel.

If you’ve yet to see the title in action, then it might come as a surprise that the armor changes the theme to a large degree. While this followup is still going to be a traditional side-scrolling adventure, gone is the action/platformer style. Valfaris: Mecha Therion is a shoot ’em up through and through, and sends Therion airborne to battle a horde of new enemies.

Therion returns as the hunt for Lord Vroll continues. Pilot an advanced machine of death and destruction in this explosive 2.5D side-scrolling shoot ‘em up, and sequel to the critically acclaimed Valfaris. Strap in and unleash mecha hell!

After escaping Valfaris, Therion’s hunt for the evil Lord Vroll has taken him across the galaxy. As the final, inevitable showdown looms, Therion harnesses the awesome combat ability of his secret weapon – Mecha Therion!

A formidable suit of weaponised metal, Mecha Therion can be equipped with an array of devastating firepower, including Therion’s trademark Hellwraith – a minigun that shoots tormented souls.

Big Sugar press release

Like what you’re seeing? Well then you’re going to be thrilled to learn that Valfaris: Mecha Therion is coming up this very month. While there will be eventual console editions as well, the title will hit first for the PC, on November 21st.

As for the Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch editions, those will be along some time in 2024.
