Street Fighter’s Akuma takes down Heihachi and goes head to head with Kazuya in this new war-torn trailer for Tekken 7.
Well this is looking just a tad more end-of-the-worldish than Tekken games usually look, isn’t it? To me it looks like some kind of world-war is raging in this background of Tekken 7, which would kind of make a fighting tourney seem a lil’ bit silly. So I’m going to guess here that the game’s story is a little less ‘tournament’ based.
And then you have to add in Street Fighter’s Akuma, who seems to be a pretty important of the story… and is he a hero in Tekken 7 or what? Good or bad, it looks like he’s got a serious grudge against the Mishima clan, and I can’t deny the coolness of a devil on raging demon matchup as a fan of both long-running fighting game series. Seeing Akuma lessens the blow that Bandai Namco’s end of the Street Fighter/Tekken matchup will likely never see the light of day too.
And I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that T7 looks a hell of a lot better than the last time I saw it in action. The best-looking entry in the series? Kind of seems like it.
Tekken 7: Fated Retribution was originally set to launch on the PS4 last month, with other platforms coming after, but has been delayed and currently sits sans release date.
