Psychological Horror Game Total Chaos re-dated, arriving in Q4 of this year

The terror of Apogee Entertainment and Trigger Happy’s Total Chaos will be bubbling up later this year for the PC.

Save your sanity

One of the best-looking first-person titles coming up as far as we’re concerned, is Apogee and developer Trigger Happy’s Total Chaos. A complete change of direction from the company’s first title, Turbo Overkill, Total Chaos is a dark and twisted horror story where players find themselves in the boots of a Coast Guardsman lost at sea.

Said Guardsman winds up on an abandoned island filled with old structures, bizarre creatures and monsters, and a sanity-mangling mystery of what seems to be cosmic proportions. All of this came from humble beginnings too, as the game actually started life as a total conversion (remember those?) for DOOM II.

That was 2018 though, before it was reforged and expanded into what’s looking like a top notch horror shooter.

Total Chaos isn’t just a game, it’s a descent. A personal one. Every shadow, every sound, every silence has meaning. This delay gives me the time to ensure that the journey into Fort Oasis is as haunting and unforgettable as it needs to be,” said Total Chaos developer and head of Trigger Happy Interactive, Sam Prebble. “The island will be waiting… and it won’t let you leave unchanged.”

Apogee Entertainment press release

Yes, as you can see in the above quote, while Total Chaos is looking great, it’s also been delayed. Originally set for release on the PC some time this summer, it’s been shifted a bit, and will instead debut later this year, in quarter 4. That’s not all that massive of a delay, and we all know the old adage about rushed games.

Just when in the last chunk of 2025 Total Chaos will land though, we don’t know. Nevertheless, we’ll keep you updated with further announcements.
