The post-apocalypse arrives a little early for Switch with S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy

Bumped up a tad, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy is officially coming to the Nintendo Switch this month.

Stalking a new console

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has certainly been making the rounds lately, with the long-awaited new entry in the series inbound for the Xbox Series X|S and PC. But it’s not the only post-apocalyptic action coming up, with the Switch-bound S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy set to release as well.

While the former has been getting all of the headlines, the latter will bring the first-person shooter to Nintendo’s console for the first time. As the title indicates too, it’ll do so in triplicate, with Shadow of Chornobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Prypiat all included.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is a series of first-person survival shooters with horror and RPG elements, set in a dark, science fiction, post-apocalyptic world surrounding the Chornobyl nuclear power plant. The original trilogy includes S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chornobyl (2007), S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky (2008), and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Prypiat (2009). The series is highly acclaimed for its unique worldview and gameplay, with cumulative worldwide sales exceeding 15 million units.

GSC Game World press release

As you can see there, this week’s news isn’t so much about the bundle itself, as we knew it was coming, but the launch timing. Originally, we had reported that S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy would be arriving for the Switch in November, but GSC Game World has updated that.

That means fans will be able to get portable with the series’ brutal action a little sooner, as the package deal will now be landing on October 31st. A little post-apocalyptic savagery for your Halloween? Yeah, that’ll work.
