Noob Saibot arrives in Mortal Kombat 1, in the new Khaos Reigns trailer

Sub-Zero can’t escape his dark fate in Mortal Kombat 1’s rebooted universe, as Noob Saibot arrives in Khaos Reigns.

What a Noob

Every Mortal Kombat fan knows the history of the original Sub-Zero and his metamorphosis into the dark and otherworldly Noob Saibot. When that narrative was rebooted though, it wasn’t a sure thing that it’d happen again. But any thinking that it wasn’t meant to be, is now all put to rest thanks to Khaos Reigns.

An expansion pack for MK1, Khaos Reigns brings a new storyline to the new universe that NetherRealm has created. The pack brings in not only a new story, but some familiar faces too, with legacy fighters Cyrax, Sektor… and Noob Saibot.

And as you’ll see in the just-released Noob Saibot trailer, it appears as though Bi-Han is up to his old tricks.

In Fire God Liu Kang’s New Era, a godly Havik from another timeline stole Bi-Han’s soul to create the perfect henchman: Noob Saibot. As Sub-Zero, Bi-Han was the Lin Kuei’s ruthless Grandmaster who dreamed of making his clan a dominant force in Earthrealm. As Noob Saibot, Bi-Han is dedicated to fomenting anarchy. He will not rest until all forms of authority are eradicated.

Warner Bros press release

Along with the trio of traditional kombatants, Khaos Reigns will also be delivering a dose of guest-stars. It’s a roster that will introduce Scream’s Ghostface, as well as the T-1000 from Terminator 2, and the iconic Conan the Barbarian. How the heck he hasn’t been featured already in an MK title, we don’t know.

Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns is set for launch this month, landing for all versions of the fighting game on September 24th. If you’re planning on getting it, you might want to pre-order too, since doing so will net you a four pack of skins, with “Wedding Scorpion, Empress Mileena, and klassic Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 versions of Sub-Zero and Noob Saibot”.
