Sideshow unveils Hot Toys’ new battle-damaged Darth Vader

One of the coolest figures we’ve ever seen yet from Hot Toys, the company’s next Darth Vader has seen some heavy combat.

Still kicking

While his visage was never damaged until the close of the original films, Darth Vader has been worked over a few times in the modern era. That’s true for video games, as well as both Disney’s live-action and animated Star Wars television shows. Now Hot Toys is poised to deliver a figure that’s based on none of what we’ve seen already, but picks up on all of the aesthetic.

Just revealed at Sideshow Con, Darth Vader (Battle Damaged) is looking absolutely stunning. The company’s staple level of detailing is supplemented by what looks to be an awesome LED-lit lightsaber and a totally new Anakin Skywalker headsculpt.

Yes, you can swap out the helmet of the Dark Lord for an unmasked head, what kind of “battle damaged” figure would it be if you couldn’t? Actually, depending on which version you pick, you get a few options in that arena as well, with a version sporting a helmet that has been sliced-into, and one that has just a fragment of it remaining.

For those who like a big, dramatic display too, the more expensive pair of versions include a neat looking alternate cape you can swap in. So there are some serious options happening with this figure and its three variants.

Showcasing the Sith Lord’s powerful convergence of cybernetics and flesh, the Darth Vader (Battle Damaged) 1/6 Scale Figure by Hot Toys features a brand new headsculpt of a scarred Anakin Skywalker™ plus a full helmet with weathed effects. The highly detailed battle-damaged suit and cybernetic parts of Vader’s body have been meticulously rendered in stunning detail. LED light-up features include a Lightsaber™ and an adjustable themed display base.

The Darth Vader (Battle Damaged) Special Edition includes a damaged Darth Vader mask as an additional bonus accessory.

The Darth Vader (Battle Damaged) Deluxe Version includes all of the above and a damaged helmet revealing the scarred visage of Lord Vader PLUS a specially designed interchangeable cape, which forms a silhouette of Darth Vader’s helmet for a unique and dramatic display option.

The exclusive Darth Vader (Battle Damaged) Special Deluxe Version comes with all of the bonus items included with the Deluxe version as well as an additional partially masked portrait.

Bring the power of the dark side to your Star Wars™ collection with the Darth Vader (Battle Damaged) 1/6 Scale Figure, the Special Edition, the Deluxe Version by Hot Toys. Available to pre-order from Sideshow.com.
