Star Wars fans are in for a treat this November, as Dark Horse Comics is set to launch Star Wars: The Prequel Trilogy Graphic Novel.
Second best trilogy
Did you know that this year is the 25th anniversary of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace? While it pains us to admit (and believe us, it does), the film has hit the quarter century mark in terms of age. And if you remember, its arrival was quite the watershed moment.
The Phantom Menace was the first Star Wars movie since the originals, and arrived in a whirlwind, bringing fans a story to fans that had remained shrouded in mystery for years. Namely, how did the Republic fall to the Emperor, and of course the Sith?
On top of that, the movie also provided one of the series’ (on the whole) coolest villains, and a lightsaber battle that was one for the ages, with Duel of the Fates. Those who’d like to relive not only The Phantom Menace, but the entire Prequel Trilogy, will want to take a look at what Dark Horse Comics has on tap.
Just revealed by the company, is Star Wars: The Prequel Trilogy Graphic Novel. As you’d probably guessed, the book will bring together adaptations of all three movies, from writer Alessandro Ferrari and a cadre of artists. Chief among those is Ingo Römling, an artist known for Star Wars already, plus “Matteo Piana, Andrea Parisi, Andrea Greppi, Igor Chimisso, Marco Dominici, Monica Catalano, Davide Turotti, Massimo Rocca, Pierluigi Casolino, Ekaterina Maximenko and Kawaii Creative Studio”. We told you it was a cadre.
Join Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi as they begin The Phantom Menace on a diplomatic mission to the planet Naboo. When diplomacy fails under a hail of blaster fire, the two Jedi rescue Queen Padmé Amidala and flee to Tatooine, where they are greeted by Anakin Skywalker, a young boy at the heart of a galactic prophecy!
Attack of the Clones sees Obi-Wan and Anakin, now Master and Padawan, take center stage. As Obi-Wan unravels an interplanetary plot concealing the existence of a secret army, Anakin protects Padmé from assassins and grapples with his inner anger. Ultimately, the heroes assemble for an epic battle on a distant desert planet!
In Revenge of the Sith, Anakin walks the path to the dark side, a journey that leads to the end of the Clone Wars and the creation of Darth Vader!
