The masters of the quarter-scale form factor, Numbskull is dropping two more cabinets with Elevator Action and Zoo Keeper.
Need more lil’ carpets
If you’ve ever played with one of Numbskull’s quarter-scale arcade cabinets, then you know how great they are. Able to fit on most shelves, but still with an impressive footprint at quarter scale size, they’re excellent options for those who want to build out a classic home arcade, but don’t have the room for 3/4 or full size units.
Now there’s two more on the way to further build out that set, with the iconic Elevator Action and Zoo Keeper. Both games are originally from Taito, and will be joining Numbskull’s Taito-branded Space Invaders standups, all of which found their homes in arcades back in the golden age of the art form, the 1980s.
Numbskull touts its attention to detail with these, and it’s pretty evident that that’s the case from the preview imagery. As you can see in the gallery below, these have just about everything that the originals did, right down to the side-art, real wooden cabinets, and dip-switches to adjust each game’s settings.
Elevator Action + Zoo Keeper – Key Features:
- Official Taito product: ¼ scale wooden replica of the original
- Engage in intense gameplay with the fully playable cabinet featuring the original arcade ROM for that authentic play factor
- Immerse yourself in the nostalgia of classic arcade gaming with meticulously recreated artwork, shape perfectly scaled, buttons and every feature from the joystick to the marquee and bezel perfectly recreated
- An absolute showstopper – display the cabinet in work, at home – wherever you like to enjoy and show off to your colleagues, friends and family
- Crafted with high-quality materials for durability, playability, and easy portability
- Equipped with an internal rechargeable lithium battery and 3W speakers for an enhanced gaming experience
- DIP switch access – adjust various game settings
- Dimensions: Height: 17” (44cm) x Width: 6.5” (16.6cm) x Depth: 8.8” (22.5cm)
Numbskull press release
Both of the above units are up for pre-order right now, with the two eying “October 2024” launch windows. If you’re thinking of ordering too, then you might want to get yours placed sooner than later. The two standups have Early Bird pricing in effect, getting their prices down from $249.99 USD (each) to $229.99 USD. That’s not a massive discount for sure, but if you’re buying both, then you’d be saving a cool $40. Not too shabby.
