The Elder Scrolls Online updates with new quest and more

It’s time once again to fire up your copy of The Elder Scrolls Online, as the MMO has a hefty set of new (and free) additions.

PvE? Now you’re talking

Yes, there’s a fresh player vs enemy adventure that’s landed for The Elder Scrolls Online. Called Endless Archive, it’s exactly what it sounds like, and delivers an endless adventure, where players will battle across procedurally generated levels, complete with both monsters to fight and bosses to vanquish. The kick is that the difficulty will ramp up as you go, and you can grab rewards that Bethesda says you won’t find anywhere else in the game’s world.

The Endless Archive is just a part of what Update 40 delivers though, as players will also find new customization options for creating parties, a rebalancing of “Jewelry Crafting” and “Quest XP & Gold Standardization”, according to the publisher. And that’s not even mentioning the Grand Master Crafting Stations.

Something brand new for TESO, Grand Master Crafting Stations allow players to “merge all their home’s attuned crafting stations for a crafting skill line into one furnishing”. Yes, that sounds insane, but that’s what’s in the press release, so… yeah.

Anyway, here’s a look at the Archive:

The Endless Archive is an all-new PvE challenge featuring a unique never-ending dungeon-like activity where players battle their way through dynamic and randomly generated stages filled with monsters and boss encounters. Players can choose to go solo or team up with a fellow player or Companion to traverse deeper into more Stages, Cycles, and Arcs. Difficulty gradually increases as players progress, unlocking a host of unique rewards not found in any other activity in the game. This includes a broad selection of collectibles, such as a mount, pet, cosmetics, and all-new Class sets.

Dying to dig in? Update 40 is live right now, and again is a free addition to all versions of The Elder Scrolls Online. You can read up on a ton more about the release here on the official site, or check out the complete list of fixes and more here on the TESO forums.
