A “campaign” mode in a racer? Yep, Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged has one, but it’s stocking a heck of a lot more too.
Mini-cars, massive monsters
There’s a whole mess more to do and see in Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged than what you might’ve expected. Sure, the first title in the series was pretty packed, but Turbocharged ups that ante in some big ways, including the campaign.
That’s exactly what the name denotes too, with unique characters and an actual story to play through. The new trailer gives a look at it in action, but also showcases modes like the track builder, free-roaming, and Elimination and Drift Master race modes.
Check it all out:
Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged will bring players back to the city, where our new protagonists Robert and Darla, alongside their robotic assistant XR046, are called to save the day and restore peace after a series of creatures are mistakenly released by Professor Tanabe. Animated cutscenes will introduce players to the background and personality of each character, immersing them in a narrative journey that will lead to breathtaking battles against five bosses, all to secure the fate of the city and its inhabitants.
PLAION press release
With all of that under the hood, Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged should have plenty to keep players and fans busy for a while. You’ll be able to finally rev the engine on this racer when it drops onto Xbox and PlayStation platforms, the Switch, and the PC on October 19th, 2023.
