SDCC 23: Dark Horse has a ton of exclusives heading to the Con, with pins, comics, and more

Fans of Dark Horse Comics’ various comics and characters are going to want to head to the publisher’s booth at SDCC.

The goods, Dark Horse has ’em. Or at least, the publisher will have ’em come Comic Con time. Tomorrow will see the debut of a deep collection of items up for sale, all just for the San Diego faithful who pay the booth’s store (booth #2615) a visit.

There you’ll find a cacophony of pins and comics, as well as a pretty nice pair of hats, to take home with you. And as usual, everything is both exclusive to the Con and limited in availability. So yeah, once it’s gone, it’s gone. Maybe get there early if you especially want one of the below?

The Oddly Pedestrian Life of Christopher Chaos Issue #1 – Nick Robles Foil Variant 

• This foil variant of a brand-new Nick Robles cover stands out in a crowd, just like Christopher Chaos. Experience the LGBTQ+ horror-hero coming-of-age series from the multi-Eisner Award-winning writers of Something is Killing the Children, The Department of Truth, and House of Slaughter, James Tynion IV and Tate Brombal. Isaac Goodhart joins the team as penciller and inker with Miquel Muerto coloring and Aditya Bidikar lettering. Limited to 1000 copies, available for $25. Limit 5 per person per day.

Koshchei in Hell #1 – Ben Stenbeck Black and White Variant 

• Issue #1 of Koshchei in Hell gets a gruesome make-over for this convention exclusive variant. Legendary Hellboy creator Mike Mignola returns to Hell, along with acclaimed artist Ben Stenbeck and award-winning colorist Dave Stewart, in Koshchei in Hell, a four-issue miniseries, soon to be collected in one volume, continuing the story from Koshchei the Deathless. Sent to kill Hellboy by the Baba Yaga in Hellboy: Darkness Calls, Koshchei the Deathless hinted at a long and tragic life before being enslaved to the Slavic witch. Now, in this new series, Koshchei is still in Hell content with his wine and his books—until an old associate arrives and brings Koshchei a critical task. Limited to 1000 copies, available for $20. Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories Annual–Jaxxon 2023 – Mike Mignola Black & White Variant

• The Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories Annual–Jaxxon 2023 will now be offered with a virgin (no logos/title treatment) black and white cover variant featuring Mike Mignola’s unique artwork. Taking a break from his stellar career as a New Republic fighter ace, the galaxy’s greatest green rabbit is sent on a top-secret diplomatic mission to Endor, only to end up in the middle of a full-blown Ewok Civil War! The comic is written by Cavan Scott (Tales from the Rancor Pit), with interior art by Nick Brokenshire (Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories), colored by David Kennedy (John Carpenter’s Tales of Science Fiction: Vortex) and lettered by Comicraft. Usagi Yojimbo: Ice and Snow #1 Blue Foil Dark Horse Convention Preview 

• Get a taste of the latest tale of the Legendary Rabbit Ronin himself in this preview of the upcoming comic Usagi Yojimbo: Ice and Snow #1. The new series features Usagi’s newfound cousin Yukichi, as well as the return of fan-favorite villain, Jei. Along with writing, art, and lettering by Sakai, the series also features colors by HiFi Colour Design. This blue foil preview issue is limited to only 500 copies, available for $25. Minor Threats Fine Art Print

The breakout comic series Minor Threats features in a fabulous fine art print. Featuring the character Scalpel, this print is a 16” x 23” lithograph styled like the iconic VHS slipcover that came right from the best video store in Twilight City. Printed with 4x0c printing with Flood Matte Varnish on 100# Cougar opaque cover smooth natural stock paper, rolled and tubed with slip sheet. Hand numbered and will available to be signed (must have wristband for signing session in order to receive signatures) by series creators Patton Oswalt, Jordan Blum, Scott Hepburn, Nate Piekos  and print artist Joëlle Jones (Lady Killer), Dark Horse Booth #2615.No matter which way you slice it, this fine art print is a killer addition to any collection.
