Artist Rachel Stott will have her work figure into the upcoming Star Wars: Dark Droids event in a big way, with a collection of variant covers.
Scourge is coming
This summer will be a hot one for Star Wars fans, with a new event series kicking off from Marvel. Set to debut in August, Star Wars: Dark Droids will introduce an all-new foe called The Scourge, that’s being described only as a “malevolent entity”.
Scourge isn’t of the light or dark sides of The Force either, it’s something else entirely, which will affect both sides of the galactic civil war.
First, it comes for the metal… Then it came for everything else. A new threat will be unleashed throughout the galaxy far, far away in STAR WARS: DARK DROIDS, the all-new Marvel Comics crossover event kicking off in August. Written by Charles Soule and drawn by Luke Ross, this dark and terrifying tale will introduce a malevolent entity known as the SCOURGE which will corrupt droids, cyborgs, and everything in between and cause chaos for the Empire and Rebellion alike.

Sounds promising, as Star Wars comics go, and at the very least this new event series will have some stunning covers. Leading that initiative will be the work of one Rachel Stott, who will have a set of five variant covers for the core series, with each one framing a different Scourge-afflicted character.
And yes, that incudes Darth Vader himself. This thing affects cyborgs as much as droids, and it’ll apparently be looking to gain access to the dark side itself via the Dark Lord. Can’t say it isn’t ambitious.
Star Wars: Dark Droids starts in August and is set to run through December. The full schedule is below.
