Hot Toys unveils Darth Sidious and Clone Commander Fox for Star Wars Day

May the Fourth be with these new announcements from Hot Toys and Sideshow, as both hail from The Clone Wars animated series.

Flashy robes included

If you’re a fan of The Clone Wars era of Star Wars’ history, you’re gonna love what Hot Toys has revealed on this May the Fourth. The high-end collectible company has taken the wraps off of a pair of figures hailing right from the now-classic animated show, with Clone Commander Fox and the would-be Emperor himself, Darth Sidious.

Both characters are somewhat related of course, since Darth Sidious is actually politician Sheev Palpatine during The Clone Wars, and Fox is the head of the Coruscant Guard. And of course, he was tasked with both keeping the peace on the Republic’s capital-world, and protecting the Supreme Chancellor at all costs. As we all know, Sheev eventually rose to that post.

Also just a quick note here, for those who don’t normally follow Hot Toys’ work, as you won’t find these figures follow the style of The Clone Wars show. Though there is a line of figures that does sport the ‘animated style’ from Hot Toys, the company mainly produces everything in a more movie-accurate way. So when you see Sheev and Fox here, they’ll look as though they did appear in the prequel trilogy.

Darth Sidious

The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural, and Sheev Palpatine™ is the most infamous follower of its doctrines. Palpatine lives a double life: He’s the respected Senator of Naboo™ but also deviously scheming behind the scenes as the mysterious Darth Sidious. This power-hungry Sith Lord™ is instrumental in starting the Clone Wars™, and is poised to step out of those shadows and take control of the galaxy.

The Darth Sidious 1/6 Scale Figure is highly detailed, with a hand-painted headsculpt featuring Hot Toys’ innovative rolling eyeball function, which allows collectors to adjust the figure’s gaze. The finely tailored costume includes a hooded robe with cape, a brooch, a tunic, and a belt. Darth Sidious comes with a pair of red, light-up LED lightsabers™, a pair of lightsaber hilts, and attachable lightsaber motion effects. The Darth Sidious 1/6 Scale Figure has over 30 points of articulation and comes with a variety of accessories and swap-out pieces, giving collectors a wide range of posing and display options.

Commander Fox is the leader of the Coruscant Guard™, an elite clone trooper™ unit assigned to serve as peacekeepers on the capital of the Galactic Republic™. Fox is duty-bound to protect and serve the Supreme Chancellor and the members of the Galactic Senate. His exemplary performance and unwavering loyalty has made him one of the most highly decorated soldiers in the Republic Army.

The Clone Commander Fox 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure by Hot Toys features a detailed recreation of Fox’s Phase 1 armor with his custom crimson-colored
markings, plus an expertly weathered helmet. The outfit also includes a kama skirt and pistol holsters. The Clone Commander Fox 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure has over 30 points of articulation, and comes with a wide selection of accessories including a heavy blaster rifle, a blaster carbine, two blaster pistols, and more!
