Dark Horse hoists the Skull and Bones for new art book

Ubisoft’s upcoming piratical open-world title, Skull and Bones is getting the art book treatment from Dark Horse Books this fall.

Avast!

Spinning out of Ubisoft Singapore, comes Skull and Bones. And after ages in development, it’ll finally be ready to put players in the boots of a salty sea-dog, cruising the Indian Ocean come this November.

Poised to be one of the biggest releases of the Holiday season, the game is set to also get a hardcover art book from Dark Horse. And from the looks of it, it might be a winner.

Though we don’t have any shots of the interiors yet, Dark Horse knows very well what to do with a tome in this genre, and promises a “high-end coffee table book featuring never-before-seen art”. Given the size of Skull and Bones, and the time it’s been in development, there could be some truly cool stuff loaded into this one.

“The team did a phenomenal job at creating the world of Skull and Bones – filled with diverse regions, ships and characters. We are proud to be able to showcase a glimpse of never-before-seen concept art of our game. We hope you’ll enjoy discovering the unique setting inspired by the Indian Ocean and immersing yourself in the pirate fantasy of Skull and Bones!”

Kobe Sek, Art Director

The Art of Skull and Bones will be in bookstores on December 20th, and then in comic shops just a day later, on December 21st. As for the game itself, that’ll be out about a month beforehand, on November 8th.
